Summer Academy and Pre-Season Academy Information

The Summer Academy (Oct-Dec 2007) and the Pre-Season Academy (Feb-Early April 2008) has been created after numerous players (and parents) asked how they could continue to develop their skills and gameplay awareness at the end of the highly successful Winter Academy. The Academy will focus on the higher level technical skills, gameplay and tactical components which when combined develop a more complete and aware footballer. This can only be fully achieved with multiple players of high ability, which is an environment the Academy creates. Tim Thorne is co-ordinating and managing the program to make sure the high standards continue.

The Academy is broken into 3 age groups:

• Pre-Academy - 6 to 8 year olds (Glenhaven-5 to 6pm; North Ryde - 6.15 to 7.15pm) - $199
• Academy - 9 to 10 year olds (6.15 to 7.15pm) $209
• Academy - 11 to 12 year olds (6.15 to 7.30pm) $229

Cost includes a GHFA academy kit of jersey, shorts and socks for first time attendees.

Day:

• Monday - North Ryde
• Friday - Glenhaven

Dates:

SUMMER ACADEMY: Week commencing October 22 to week ending December 21. Includes a total of 10 sessions (9 technical training sessions and 1 night of full field gameplay in a Round Robin format).

PRE-SEASON ACADEMY: Week commencing February 4 to week ending April 11 (due to Easter Weekend). Includes a total of 10 sessions (9 technical training sessions and 1 night of full field gameplay in a Round Robin format).

Venue:

• Monday - North Ryde - Christie Park, Christie Road (Field 2)
• Friday - Glenhaven - Glenhaven Park
